Past President Judith hands over the Presidency to Ursula Dancaster for the coming year
July was the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Milton Keynes Rose installation in Campbell Park. This design of pillars form a series of rings around a central rose sculpture. Each pillar repesents the celebration of a local event or organisation and the area forms a permanent place of memory for the City. Wolverton Inner Wheel support the Parks Trust when events are held.
For the 10th Anniversary a group from the local Ukranian Families performed a traditional dance and then laid a circle of flowers on the central rose and a number of the pillars were decorated with ‘toppers’ made by Inner Wheel members.
A group of members took a guided tour of St Lawrence’s church, Broughton, Milton Keynes. This ancient church has beautifully preserved medieval wall paintings which were revealed from behind plaster during renovations in 1890. The church is opened on request
In September our International group held a ladies fashion show at the Cock Hotel , Stony Stratford. A very successful evening enjoyed by a full house and the event raised useful funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance
