The Wolverton Club is a part of the International Association of Inner Wheel Clubs and was established over 60 years ago in what was then a small town in North Buckingamshire, UK, 45 miles north of London. Fifty years ago, the New City of Milton Keynes was planned to include the towns of Wolverton, Stony Stratford, Bletchley and a group of small villages spread between them. In those last 50 years, the population has grown from around 53,000, to a current figure of over 350,000 and a target figure of over 500,000 by 2025. The 34 square miles of Milton Keynes are a place of parks and trees with over 20 Million Trees planted in the extensive green spaces of what was confirmed as a ‘New City’ to celebrate the late Queen’s Jubilee. The City is also well known for the marvellous free flowing traffic negotiating the 130* roundabouts on a grid road system designed to reduce, if not entirely eliminate traffic jams. Many of the lady members of Wolverton Inner Wheel (but not all ), have a connection with one of the local Rotary Clubs, and the following pages of this web site provide information about Inner Wheel, the local Club, and what it does. *as at 2023
